We have identified a range of field trips that are available nationwide for schools.

Department of ConservationDOC have a range of 'Teacher Lead' local field trip resources that provide a curriculum guide for experiences at a range of DOC sites throughout the country. Free.
Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT)This workshop is delivered around the country and provides an overview of NZ predators, focusing on rats, stoats and possums, their impacts and control methods. It involves developing an effective predator control plan and practical experience. Offered to high school and adult learners. It is linked to unit standard qualifications. Off campus courses are being offered throughout the country.$166 p/s.Apply online
Papa Taiao EarthcareOffers a selection of courses for secondary schools based around education for sustainability and enterprise which attract NCEA credits. Predator control short courses (two days, including an overnight stay) are offered throughout the country, in addition to their Predator Free Secondary Schools Awards programme. Varies. Trees for Survival A supported environmental education program teaching the fundamental principles of ecology, horticulture, and environmental restoration. Students raise native seedlings at school and plant them out on at-risk land in their local community. Resources are provided to registered schools.$200 per year per school.Get in touch
